Simon Stephens torna a Milano per un esclusivo workshop di drammaturgia
Dopo tre edizioni di successo, che hanno visto la partecipazione di artisti provenienti da Italia, Regno Unito, Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Polonia e USA, e dopo il trionfo della sua drammaturgia “Lo strano caso del cane ucciso a mezzanotte” – con oltre 20.000 spettatori al Teatro Elfo Puccini – Simon Stephens torna a grande richiesta a Milano per un imperdibile workshop di due giorni.
Un’opportunità unica per drammaturghi, registi e attori di apprendere da un maestro capace di combinare passione, umanità e un approccio profondamente autentico.

SIMON STEPHENS
Simon Stephens (Manchester, 1971) è una delle voci più influenti della scena anglosassone contemporanea e autore di più di trenta opere nel corso degli ultimi 20 anni. I suoi testi sono stati rappresentati da importanti teatri in Regno Unito, Usa, Canada, Olanda, Germania ed est Europa. Dopo aver insegnato per il Young Writers Program del Royal Court Theater (2001-2005), è diventato Artistic Associate del Lyric Hammersmith di Londra. Autore premiatissimo, il suo adattamento del romanzo di Mark Haddon “Lo strano caso del cane ucciso a mezzanotte”, clamoroso successo nel West End londinese e a Broadway, ha vinto l’Olivier e il Tony Awards nella categoria Best New Play. Il 2019 ha visto il debutto del suo nuovo lavoro “Light falls”, al Royal Exchange Theatre di Manchester, mentre nel 2020 adatta “Cecità” di Saramago per uno spettacolo-installazione in tour in tutto il mondo.
Dal 2017 è professore di sceneggiatura alla Manchester Metropolitan University.

After three highly successful editions, with participants from Italy, the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, and the USA, and following the triumph of his play “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”—which attracted over 20,000 spectators at Teatro Elfo Puccini—Simon Stephens returns to Milan by popular demand for an unmissable two-day workshop.

SIMON STEPHENS
Simon Stephens (Manchester, 1971) is one of today’s leading playwrights, with more than 30 plays written over the last 20 years. His works have been staged by the most prominent theatres in the UK, US, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Eastern Europe. Having taught at the Young Writers Program of the Royal Court (2001-2005), he is now Artistic Associate at the Lyric Hammersmith in London. His adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” won the Oliver and Tony Awards for Best New Play. In 2018 his new play “Light falls” premiered at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. In 2020 he adapted the novel “Blindess” by Saramago for a sound installation now touring the world.
He is Professor of Scriptwriting at the Manchester Metropolitan University since 2017.
